About Us

      The Michigan Dance Team is a competitive dance group that aims to represent and support the University of Michigan positively through spirit. The team was founded 20 years ago and is composed of 27 undergraduate girls each who all come from a variety of majors, but share a common passion of dance.  Along with their coach, The Michigan Dance Team is led by an Executive Board. The Executive Board consisting of team-elected members: two Captains, Treasurer, Public Relations, and Fundraising/Marketing Coordinator.

     

      You can find the team supporting U of M Athletics at many varsity sporting events including all home football games, Men's and Women's home basketball games, soccer, tennis, and wrestling. The team also supports the University and its students at other campus events throughout the year. 

      Additionally, the Michigan Dance Team represents U of M at the Universal Dance Association's (UDA) National Cheerleading and Dance Team Championship held in Orlando, Florida every January.  From 2001-2010, The University of Michigan Dance Team placed in the Top Ten at Nationals every year.
